Denver's City Council is too busy paring a $70 million deficit to consider a smoking ban at restaurants and bars, members said Wednesday.
While two council members would support a smoking ban at restaurants, most said a ban in the city would send customers to Arvada, Glendale, Aurora and elsewhere, hurting Denver's bar and eatery owners.
Tuesday, the Greeley City Council decided to send the question of a smoking ban to the voters.
If voters approve, Greeley will join such cities as Boulder, Louisville, Montrose, Pueblo, Fort Collins, Aspen and Snowmass that have banned smoking in restaurants, bars or both.
