Texas Rangers outfielder Juan Gonzalez was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Monday and will miss the remainder of the season.

Gonzalez was first placed on the 15-day disabled list July 23 with a torn muscle in his right calf and has not played since.

Texas had been trying to trade the 15-year veteran earlier this year and has repeatedly stated it will not re-sign the free agent after the 2003 season.

The 33-year-old batted .294 with 24 home runs and 70 RBI in 82 games this season before the injury.
