Sep. 9--ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--It's time to pay the band.
The Recording Industry Association of America, the bane of online music fans, filed hundreds of lawsuits on Monday against Internet users who the RIAA says are illegally downloading music.
With the lawsuits, the RIAA enters the second phase of a well-publicized crackdown on Internet music downloading that started in June. So far, no lawsuits have been filed in New Mexico, said a clerk for the U.S. District Court in Albuquerque.
