Winter wheat seeded area in Ontario this fall is not expected to hit the record level it did a year ago, but will still be above average in size, according to an official with the Ontario Wheat Producer's Marketing Board.
"Ultimately, how much area in Ontario is seeded to winter wheat will be dependent on how fast the soybean crop can be harvested," Larry Shapton, general manager for the Board said.
Last fall, a record 1.0 million acres of winter wheat was seeded in the province of Ontario, up from 600,000 the previous season. "If I had to hazard a guess, seedings this fall ...
