The pairing
- Human: Dr. Jeff Smith, Zumbrota, Minn.
- Dog: English setter
- Dog and owner: Hunt pheasants in autumn, while providing comfort year-round to patients at Charter House in Rochester.
I've had English setters for 28 years, breeding a line from grouse-hunting country in northern Michigan. I like their personalities. They're very easy to live with. And because you only hunt about three months of the year, the dog has to adapt to living around the house and that sort of thing.
