The 2004 schedule for NASCAR's Nextel Cup series begins Feb.?7, will include three races in California and keeps the all-star race at Lowe's Motor Speedway, series officials announced Tuesday.

The biggest change to the schedule was announced in June, when it was revealed that the Southern 500 would move from the Labor Day weekend to Nov. 14 and that California Speedway would be awarded a second race, to be held the day before Labor Day.

Officials looked at the idea of moving the all-star race, which has been known as The Winston, from Lowe's Motor Speedway, but it will remain at the Charlotte-area track ...
