NEW YORK -- In an effort to encourage smaller systems to take part in their PPV Olympics TripleCast, NBC and Cablevision Systems Corp. have developed a plan designed to make it financially attractive for them to carry the TripleCast.
Under the plan, systems with 1,500 or fewer subscribers will be able to retain the first $1,500 of revenue to help offset the capital costs of headend equipment, said Marty Lafferty, vice president of PPV Olympics. He added that after the first $1,500 is earned, the system would then operate under a 70-30 PPV Olympics-system split for the remaining PPV Olympics revenue.
