Fly fishing could use another movie. Short of that, the fly-fishing universe had better start recruiting anglers the hard way, industry leaders said during the Fly Fishing Retailer World Trade Expo at the Colorado Convention Center last week.
Blame the rotten national economy.
Blame an aging force of ang- lers or a fast- paced world with less leisure time.
The buzz (grumble) at the show was that fly-fishing participation and spending has skidded into a worrisome slump.
