Dhaka, July 27 (UNB) - The authorities will launch a country-wide drive on August 1 to snap gas connections of defaulting customers who have failed to pay a total of Tk 1,200 crores in arrears gas bills.
Officials said the drive is designed to recover the huge arrears due to both private and government customers including those who have failed to pay for more then three months.
The defaulters owe to the country's four state-owned gas production and distribution companies Tk 1,200 crores, including Tk 665 crores by private and Tk 552 crores by government clients.
