Two of the USA's leading biotechnology players, Amgen and Genentech, say they have settled a patent dispute which has rumbled on for the last seven years. The legal wrangle related to disputed technology on Amgen's blockbuster granulocyte colony-stimulating factor Neupogen (filgrastim), a key component of the latter's product portfolio which generated sales of over $1 billion last year.
