1770 House: need to know
This small inn, on Main Street, East Hampton, was recently refurbished to the highest standard that you get out here (most visitors rent houses because hotels are scarce). It's near the pond (beware: the swans are mean) and only contains seven bedrooms and a separate, two-bedroom coach house. It's as quaint as they come, and the rooms are small, with equally small and charming bathrooms.
Aside from the famous restaurant downstairs, there is also a small 'parlour' and a tavern for late-night drinking and informal food. The garden at the back is lovely and private (and there is parking). It's a ...
