Back home in front of the Fenway faithful, the Red Sox disappointed only the visitors from Chicago last night as they walked their way to a 7-4 victory.
The kickoff to the next-to-last homestand of the regular season was a primer on patience at the plate by the Red Sox and poor pitching from the AL Central-leading White Sox, who walked 12.
The game was not pretty and it moved ploddingly, but Red Sox starter Jeff Suppan provided another - there have been just two - encouraging glimpse into the pitcher the Red Sox thought they were getting six weeks ago.
