SNOHOMISH -- Trailing the South Kitsap Wolves by five points with the ball on the 16-yard line, 20 seconds left and no timeouts, the Snohomish Panthers had to think they had three shots into the end zone. For a run-first, even run-only team at times, it was a terrifying proposition.
On attempt number one, quarterback Jefff Rodland sailed a pass that was batted away in the corner of the end zone.
For the first few ticks of attempt number two, things looked much worse as Rodland was chased from the pocket and twice almost corralled a good 20 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
