LIKE most Brits, I've been putting off St Kitts. In a list of popular West Indian islands it's way down the list, hardly makes the brochures and has few special offers compared with Barbados, Antigua, Jamaica and now Cuba.
They are each mass-market destinations, attracting hundreds of thousands every year.
I did visit St Kitts five years ago - just half a day while changing planes.
The airport was small and scruffy and I couldn't see any decent beaches. So that was it. St Kitts didn't make my Caribbean portfolio of islands to recommend.
