FOR nearly a century, Brownies have diligently earned badges for knitting, knotting and needlecraft.
Not any more. Along with those for dinghy sailing, walking and being a 'house orderly', they have been axed in an attempt to meet the modern desires of seven to ten-year-old girls.
Britain's 300,000 Brownies will instead be tackling 'politically correct' subjects such as disability issues, discovering faith and learning about the environment.
