The Man in Black was wearing a white shirt. Heavily starched, with unmatching cuff links depicting the presidential seal. One was a gift from Richard Nixon, the other from Ronald Reagan.
In the penthouse of a Bloomington hotel room, Johnny Cash didn't look as monumental as he had onstage the previous night at the old Carlton Celebrity Room nightclub. He was formidable - broad shoulders, barrel-chested - like a football lineman. Maybe 6 feet 1 or so, a crown of tousled black hair and black pants, black vest and black shoes.
