Let optimism prevail over fear
Much like the phantom limb that haunts the amputee, the lives lost two years ago this day still haunt this nation. Their absence is still felt; their loss still aches.
Those great skyscrapers, though reduced by hatred to dust, still cast a long shadow over us. In aiming for them, the terrorists surely knew they would hit something even bigger: our spirit. Not only our buildings were toppled that day.
The war against terror was abruptly imposed upon us, and thus far it is fear who is winning. A nation once the hope of the world now lives in fear of the world. Fooling even ...
