Two decades ago, Jim Baskett's rheumatoid arthritis began to pain him so much that he could barely walk.
In his struggle toward a painless existence, he discovered Emerald City Smoothie, a mom and pop chain that would encourage him to lead a fit lifestyle and set him upon a new business venture.
"Everything came to a screeching halt," he said of his arthritis diagnosis. "I could barely step off a curb, let alone throw a ball. I looked like an 80-year-old man at 35."
