SEOUL, May 29 Asia Pulse - Umbilical cord blood banks are mushrooming in Korea with almost no government regulations.
Babies' cord blood, which can be used for treating life-threatening diseases that may occur later in life, is collected and stored by banks which have different blood collecting and saving standards, facilities and charges, confusing potential clients.
People who recently saw TV ads on cord blood banking are still very unfamiliar with them, even though competition among them is already fierce.
