Jakarta, May 22 (ANTARA) - President Megawati Soekarnoputri has said that the travel ban imposed on Indonesia is no longer necessary because the country's security situation has improved and it has not been declared as a SARS epidemic country. "The travel ban is no longer necessary," chairwoman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), Yanti Sukamdani, quoted the president as saying here Thursday. Megawati received tourism businessmen at the state palace. Yanti said such European countries as Germany, the Netherlands and Italy have lifted their travel ban on Indonesia.
