The distance learning telecommunications network at State University of New York (SUNY), Institute of Technology plays host to several educational endevors.
Daniel Shabert, the director of instructional resources, explains that six other sites in upstate New York are tied into the network and receive graduate-level special education courses. Two courses, one on learning disabilities in school and society and another on mental retardation in school and society, are featured each semester. "A total of 100 students at all seven sites receive instruction," says Shabert.
