DRESSED in nothing but a swimsuit, swim cap, and goggles, Lynne Cox peered over the railing into the icy blue water below, Goose bumps covered her skin as freezing winds whipped past the boat.
Cox is an accomplished open-ocean swimmer and a cold-water specialist. During the course of three decades, she has swum incredible distances in waters so frigid they would kill an average person in minutes. Last December, Cox proved once again that she rules the waves. She took a deep breath, dove off the boat--and swam to Antarctica.
