The leadership of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) gathered from June 29 to July 2 in the spectacular South African resort complex of Sun City, which lies nestled in the hills of the Pilansberg Game Reserve, about a two-hour drive northwest of Johannesburg. The sun shone brightly every day of the event, but its sessions labored under the cloud of the Diamond Trading Company's Supplier of Choice program, which just several weeks earlier had been kicked into high gear.
