Sep. 17--FORT WAYNE, Ind.--Banks and insurance have long dominated downtown Fort Wayne.
But as local banks were sold to large, out-of-state banks and as Lincoln National Corp. shrunk its operations here, those downtown buildings have emptied. Employees with years of experience in banking and insurance have sometimes found jobs with new or expanding businesses while others have moved into other fields or communities.
