DAVAO CITY A group composed of representatives from various government agencies is set to conduct further study to trace the source of arsenic contamination affecting the surrounding areas of the geothermal project of the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) and the Cotabato side of Mt. Apo.
Agnes de Jesus, senior manager of the PNOC environmental management division, said the study will include historical background, physical survey, sampling design, and ground analysis De Jesus said the study will determine whether the contamination comes from river, soil, or gas emissions.
