CHICAGO, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Although domestic flights in the United States have not yet rebounded to pre-9/11 frequencies, the airline industry is showing signs of recovery partially as a result of the growing low-cost carrier segment, according to OAG, the world's leading source of independent flight schedule information.

In the OAG Quarterly Report on Global Airline Schedules, OAG finds that the U.S. low cost carrier segment is operating with 5% more flights than in September 2001. Cincinnati, Chicago Midway and Salt Lake City's airports, which all cater to the low-cost carrier segment, are operating above pre-9/11 frequencies.
