OK, so it's a chain restaurant, the food's predictable and, despite its French pretentions, there's probably not a cheese-eating surrender monkey anywhere in the world who'd actually eat there.
And, I'll admit, after a couple of indifferent meals over the years, I wasn't relishing the prospect of eating again at Cafe Rouge.
