NEW YORK, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The History Channel and the U.S. Department of Education have formed a partnership to create and produce special programming, which celebrates America's civic holidays. The documentaries will air on The History Channel and in The History Channel Classroom. The joint announcement was made today by Executive Vice President and General Manager of The History Channel Dan Davids and U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige at The Academy of American Studies in Long Island City, New York. New York City Schools Chancellor Joel I. Klein also participated.
