Yes, Susan Germain admits, "I've always done crazy things."
Crazy, maybe, but fascinating, too.
Susan is a freelance artist and student of popular culture who lives in an old family home in Eastwood and makes a living restoring carousel horses. She had four from Broome County in process last week when I dropped by.
She's also the new owner of 3,000 pieces of Americana. The pieces are of Lustron No. 01461, the all-steel, panelized, prefabricated house that used to sit on a lot at Buckingham Avenue and Meadowbrook Drive, on Syracuse's East Side.
