This week I heard of the 160 priests in Milwaukee who wrote and signed a letter wherein they expressed their desire for a married priesthood (NCR, Aug. 29). As a priest, I feel insulted and sad at the scandal of their disobedience, and their example to the laity, many of whom think that the married priesthood is a solution to the vocations crisis.
