Australian Communications Minister, Richard Alston, has expressed support for Microsoft's plans to scrap its online chat rooms. The computer industry giant says the decision was based on fears that the Internet sites were being frequented by sexual predators. Alston praised the decision at the launch of "Net Detectives", a computer game which aims to educate children on the possible dangers of the Internet. Yahoo! says it will continue to run its chat rooms.
