Sep. 25--Construction on a Wal-Mart SuperCenter at North Beach Street and North Tarrant Parkway will begin any day now -- a surprise to some residents who thought they had defeated the project three years ago.
The store should be completed in nine to 10 months, said Daphne Moore, Wal-Mart community affairs manager. The north Fort Worth store is expected to employ about 450 people.
Residents in the Park Glen-Summerfields area lobbied against the store in 2000, when it was first proposed. As a result, the Fort Worth City Council approved an ordinance that ...
