Sep. 25--As Fox Cities employees begin to look at their health care coverage for 2004, there may be a new tongue-twister to the usual offering of alphabet soup.
In addition to PPOs, EPOs and HMOs, now there's CDHCs.
Consumer-directed health plans are born of the theory that if people are held more fiscally responsible for their health care costs, they will be more careful in how those dollars are spent. The thinking goes that these more fiscally conscious consumers will then help keep health costs from spiraling out of control.
