Can a been-there, done-that frequent traveler to the Caribbean and a dewy-eyed first-timer enjoy the same mainstream cruise?
The opportunity to research this question presented itself recently aboard Holland America's new 1,850-passenger Zuiderdam on a one-week cruise to the Western Caribbean. As the veteran, I mapped out our itinerary, selecting shore excursions with an eye to sharing some of my favorite locales. My neophyte companion, Sally, is a Californian who had never been to the Caribbean and who had done very little cruising.
