The government intends to buy seeds of super hybrid yellow corn variety grown in China for testing in local farms in a bid to increase the countrys corn production.

The extraordinary corn variety, known in China as Hua Lung No.1, had been growing up to 3 meters high with yield of 25 tons of grain per hectare.

This yield is more than eight times higher than the countrys current average yield for yellow corn placed at 3 tons per hectare, and bigger by over three folds the highest yield of 8 tons per hectare ever achieved by local hybrid corn varieties distributed by multinational seed companies, according to Agriculture ...
