LOS ANGELES -- Staples Center will continue to host the Pac-10 men's basketball tournament through 2012, receiving an extension after groups from Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Anaheim, Calif., and San Jose, Calif., attempted to acquire the four-day event with competitive bids.
Announced before Friday's semifinal games, the new deal comes over the objection of some league coaches, namely Arizona's Lute Olson, who want the postseason playoff rotated among conference cities.
