Chances are a college professor from Brooklyn, a streetwise huckster from Queens and a sanitation worker from Staten Island have never all crossed paths in their native New York City.

Yet the three are all integral parts of a trail of trash that begins in the leafy urban streets of the Park Slope section of Brooklyn and ends in the pastoral/industrial mix of Lower Saucon Township's Applebutter Road.
