Jul. 14--More than a decade ago, local residents had to learn a slew of new bank names after most of the state's major institutions failed and were taken over by out-of-state players.
Now there's another group of new names, but this time the change is much less traumatic. Drawn by the area's rapid population growth -- Fort Worth last week was cited as one of the nation's fastest-growing big cities -- and the industry's continued profitability, new entrants are popping up across Tarrant County.
And the trend shows no sign of slowing.
