Microsoft Corp. finished the largest-ever interim update for its Windows operating system yesterday - a broad collection of fixes and improvements meant to address the security problems that have dogged the company's flagship product.
The next challenge: Getting the update installed on hundreds of millions of home and business computers that use the software.
The free update, dubbed Windows XP Service Pack 2, will be made available to computer users in the coming days and weeks in a variety of forms, including download over the Internet and, for those who request it, on a CD in the mail. Microsoft said all ...
