EU/WTO: MEPS SAY EU SHOULD STAY ENGAGED IN WTO.(members of European Parliament support World Trade Organization)

The European Union should not withdraw into bilateral or regional trade talks in the wake of the World Trade Organisation's debacle in Canc[pounds sterling]n earlier this month, the European Parliament said in Strasbourg on September 25. In a joint Resolution on the September 10-14 Canc[pounds sterling]n meeting, MEPs said multilateral trade agreements remained the best mechanism for promoting free and fair trade to the benefit of all, including developing countries (see European Report 2803 for full details of the Canc[pounds sterling]n meeting).
