The true horror of what the military and its propaganda arm, the U.S. media, sold as a clean, high-tech war in the Persian Gulf has now become evident. An estimated 85,000 tons of nonnuclear, "conventional" bombs were dropped on Iraq and Kuwait during the conflict. Together, these munitions produced a destructive power equivalent to five Hiroshimas. Comparable quantities of rockets, missiles and artillery shells were also fired during the Persian Gulf war, making it the most firepower-intensive conflict since World War II.
