Knitted liquid-barrier mattress cover.(Fabrics)

German textile companies Pharetra and Eschler Textil, in collaboration with knitting machine manufacturer Karl Mayer, have developed a knitted liquid barrier fabric.

For particular application as a mattress cover, the easy-care fabric features a polyurethane coating and an antimicrobial finish. Small stains can be simply wiped off, while washing at 100[degrees]C eliminates larger dirty spots, says Karl Mayer.
