AKRON, Ohio, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Harlan Evans joined the Beacon Journal on July 7 as national advertising manager. He was the national advertising manager at the New Haven Register in New Haven, Conn., a group of 12 newspapers. Before that, he was national advertising manager at E.W. Scripps Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has experience negotiating multi-million dollar contracts in key national advertising categories and has managed sales at other newspapers in Maryland, New York and California.
