Edwina Currie curls up on the sofa in the living room of her Surrey home like a denim-clad, 57-year-old cat, unsheathes her claws, and tells me what she really thinks about John Major. 'He's a cold b*****d,' she says.
Here we are, almost a year since Currie's Diaries 1987-1992 was published, complete with its astonishing revelation about her long and passionate affair with Major. But now, with a paperback edition imminent, it seems that what she had to say about her former lover in the book barely scratched the surface of her feelings about him.
For Currie, the decision to confess all let loose a flood of criticism.
