Although owls are nocturnal creatures, you don't need to stay up all night to enjoy the annual Owlfest at Woodland Dunes Nature Center near Two Rivers, Wis.
By all means, though, hang around long enough to enjoy an evening folk concert. It features renowned mountain dulcimer artist Kevin Roth in a rare Midwest appearance.
The focus of this event is the tiny saw-whet owl named for the twittering noise it makes, which resembles the sound of a carpenter sharpening a handsaw on a whetstone.
