Unquestionably, Oregon has invested heavily in football facilities to compete with Southern California and Washington and, on certain days, with Texas, Colorado and Michigan.

And yet the programs under more pressure to keep up with the Ducks are Washington State and Oregon State, who can't necessarily afford to match what Oregon has, but can't afford not to stay close.
