JAMESTOWN -- A new education advocacy group has hired a Charlotte nonprofit executive and former college professor to be its first executive director.

Eric Law will lead the Guilford County Education Network, which will work to improve local education at all levels. Network organizers announced his hiring Monday morning at GTCC.

Law was the central regional director for United Family Services in Charlotte and previously was an associate vice president of the Foundation for the Carolinas.
