NORFOLK -- A New York woman pleaded guilty in federal court to running an illegal immigrant ring that supplied workers to hotels, landscapers and other businesses in Hampton Roads and along the East Coast.
Julia Del Guzzo, also known as Julia Radwaniecka, a native of Poland, pleaded guilty to harboring illegal immigrants and money laundering. She faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of as much as $500,000 when she is sentenced on Jan. 7.
Del Guzzo, 55, of Schenectady, N.Y., had been scheduled for trial Monday on a seven-count indictment, but pleaded guilty after 5 p.m. Friday in U.S. District Court.
