Oct. 1--JERSEY CITY, N.J.--New Jersey's growing biotechnology community buzzed with excitement Tuesday over the state putting its money where its mouth has been.
A day after state Treasurer John McCormac announced a $10 million venture-capital fund to provide seed money for start-up biotech and pharmaceutical firms, state biotech officials who gathered for a conference in Jersey City spoke ecstatically about the new commitment after years of hearing officials tout New Jersey as a state for innovation.
