Seven times a day, dozens of junior and senior high students stream across Belle Plaine's West Prairie Street to get to their next class.
They make the trip outside because the School District has run out of room, forcing some students to swap buildings several times a day and pushing others into portable classrooms.
Tuesday, voters in the once small, rural community will decide for the second straight year whether to manage the booming student enrollment through a $35 million-plus building referendum.
